Today, the Doyle Community Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit staffed primarily by individuals who live in the Doyle neighborhood or were raised in the Doyle area. The Center is supported by many volunteers and a deep involvement from Kerrville area businesses, individuals, and the City of Kerrville. The Doyle Board of Directors oversees the Center’s operations and works diligently to ensure access is available for needed programs and services for our community members.
The Hope for Health Collaborative provided the resources for the Doyle Community Center to create new opportunities for health care, food equity, and transportation for the citizens. The Food Pantry, Counseling, Transportation, and Health Clinic services as well as evening family programs, and continuing adult education programs have been the primary mission of the Center since its beginning. We anticipate restarting two additional educational programs soon to support families and the youth -- a summer youth program and an after school program in the fall.
There is much need in the community. Solving the inequities of 100 years while respecting and maintaining the history of the Doyle neighborhood takes kindness, mindfulness, and participation of all. Community leaders in the Doyle neighborhood and the greater Kerrville community, a network of nonprofits, and local foundations, work together alongside the Doyle residents, to help solve food insecurity, transportation, and health issues.
